Description: I own a specialty advertising company - now in our 46th year I am happy to report - and worked in the industry for many years prior to establishing my own firm. For most of our time in business my best client was what was formerly known as "The Bell System". Of course after divestiture it was later broken up into what was generally called the "Baby Bells" - and later morphed into many variations. So over the years we worked very closely with Western Electric, AT&T, Southern Bell, BellSouth, Lucent Technologies, OFS, Avaya, etc. I collected many over-run samples, one-or-a-kind spec samples, and the likes. I am now selling much of that collection via eBay. Here is a collection of over-run samples of items I sold to Western Electric in the 1970's - 1980's. All have never been used, and in virtually as new condition. Here is what the fortunate buyer will receive: * We sold W.E. many different styles of writing instruments - pens. Back in the day, Bradley was recognized as an industry leader in better, more upscale pens. Here is an over-run example that we sold to Western Electric Southern Region HQ then located on Roswell Road in Atlanta. It is an al metal pen in Bell system Blue and laser engraved logo in gold. At the time, laser engraving was considered high-tech. It has gold trim and still packaged in the very nice two piece gift Bradley gift box with factory warranty card. It was made in the U.S.A. As it still contains the original refill, if used rather than displayed, a replacement is needed - which are readily available.* Here is a genuine Sheaffer No Nonsense ballpoint pen over-run sample we sold to the Atlanta Works in the early 1980's. The instrument is in Bell System Blue and features the Atlanta Works in silver. silver trim and Sheaffer gift box. As with the Bradley, if used rather than displayed, a replacement refill is needed. Made in the U.S.A.* Western Electric used a variety of monthly planners for their management staff. Here is our over-run sample from an order we sold W.E. Account Management in 1979. It is by Keith Clark and features Bi-Weekly style, three year back calendar, separate note pad, and is spiral bound. The year 1979 happens to be the year that my now "first Wife Of 55 Years" and I started our company - although I had worked for another firm for many years prior to that. U.S.A. made.* Key chain address book. We sold this to W.E. Southern Region in the mid 1970's. The key ring includes pages to write contact information. It was given to high school students who toured the facility. Of course today, students would just add information to phone contacts! U.S.A. made as well.* Ice scraper sold to the Atlanta Works. It is 11" long with auto visor clip. Made in the U.S.A.* The small blue pocket mirror and the copy is permanent. Both Western Electric and Southern Bell used this little pocket mirror for recruiting employees. Those mirrors included the company logo one side / on the back copy was..."LOOK. We Need More Good People Like YOU!" This example only has the front W.W. logo. U.S.A. made.* Trim Trio pocket knife, key chain by W.E. Bassett. Featured are three blades: One very sharp, one with file and cleaner, and one with bottle opener and screwdriver. Tension is maintained by a patented technique. On one side is stamped "Western Electric Account Management". The back has name Roy Turner and his phone number. I remember Roy. He and his brother Larry worked there and were good salespersons for W.E. U.S.A. made.* Miracle Match Mending Kit as done for W.E. Southern Region. The kit contains clear nylon thread, button, etc. U.S.A. made.* Here are two different imprint woodcase pencils we sold W.E., but look a bit shopworn. U.S.A. made.* Four Bell System Seal balloons. U.S.A. made.* And the last item is interesting and a bit personal. That is the postcard we sold to the Atlanta Works. The front of the card features a full color aerial view of the plant The back has the notation when The Works was the world's largest manufacturer of cable and wire products. Quite a distinction. I helped coordinate the photo with the aerial photographer, and was instrumental in the design. If you look at the vertical sales notation, you will see it has our company name and information when we were located in Lilburn, GA. We moved to Stone Mountain, GA in 1984, so this card pre-dates then. U.S.A. printed. Although quite old, all items are in great condition, as shown in the photos. As indicated, they have never been used, and have been kept in sealed containers in one of our climate controlled rooms. Interestingly that EVERYTHING IS MADE IN THE U.S.A.!!! ONLY $38.00 for all items!!! PLUS - I will include a few ADDITIONAL telecommunications related surprise samples as well! And - With every order you receive a free hand-drawn in ink personalized cartoon "Thank You" note! An excellent addition to anyone who worked at Western Electric, collects old Bell System memorabilia. A very rare find for sure. I have other Bell System advertising items listed - assuming they are not yet sold / and will be listing more soon. From a smoke-free, pet-free climate controlled environment. With 1675+ feedback's and 100% positive responses, and being a "Power Seller", you can buy from me with confidence! For my international buyers, contact me for details. Thanks for looking..
