Waterbury Mini Grandfather Clock w/ Cherub Pat'd 1878 - Salesmans Sample?

Description: Here is an unusual miniature clock, with a case made of what appears to be late 19th century pot metal, with a copper or bronze glaze. It stands 11" tall, is 3" wide at the base, and weighs nearly 3 pounds. I wound it a few turns this morning, and by this evening it is still keeping good time. It has lost two of its three finials, but otherwise appears to be all original without enhancements. Could it be a salesman's sample? , perhaps, or just a desk clock/paperweight. The art nouveau style decoration with cherub place its age at the end of the 19th century. The patented 1878 clock works has a 2" dial, features Roman numerals, has a working second hand with a 7/16" face at the12 o'clock position, and speed adjustment. This clock looks like it has never been messed with, and would be a very interesting addition to any collection. I had acquired this unique timepiece at an auction many years ago, in Waterbury, CT.
