The piece is a miniature replica of a traditional 1800's old style INLAID music box which traditionally sat on a table top designed to accompany my lady during her daily dressing time. The cabinet is made of solid walnut and features a BURL TOP with BEAUTIFUL HAND CUT INLAY detailings of a BIRD on a BRANCH! The Music box sits on really neat SOLID BRASS ball pad feet. The cabinet houses a Swiss made Thorens 4 tune 50 note changing musical mechanism. Made by German Reuge Music Co the top name in Music box makers of yesteryear! The musical mechanism has a winding key located on the underside of the piece which features the original Thorens hand tag. When wound , the musical mechanism will immediately start playing when the lid of the cabinet is opened, and will stop playing when the lid is closed. This beautiful music box from the 1950s, made by Reuge in Switzerland, is a true collector's item. Crafted from burl wood, it features 50+ notes and plays 4 different tunes, producing a beautiful sound that is sure to delight.
