Description: Offered is this Oriental painting (a watercolor, I think) on thin cardboard, The painting depicts a rural scene of a mountain, trees, a house and someone crossing a bridge, in black and shades of gray. There is a very thin silver border around the scene. It is signed with Japanese characters but I don't know what they say. There is also a partial red stamped symbol. The back is stamped in English with the name and address of the shop it came from, in a town near Tokyo (see last photo). I don't know how old the piece is but it certainly appears old enough to be vintage; the shop stamp states that they provided "special services to foreigners since 1926". The piece is approx. 10 3/4" x 9 1/2". It is in good condition overall. Parts of the very thin silver border are worn and there are two small indented spots along the edges, as shown. I have a similar piece for sale, also. Please take a look at it and at some of the other items in my eBay store!
