Description: Offered is this Oriental painting on thin cardboard, The painting has a black background and depicts a small food cart in yellow, red and white, with a nearby man kneeling as he brews tea, drawn in yellow. There is a very thin silver border around the scene. It is signed with Japanese characters in red and white but I don't know what they say. The back is blank, but this piece was found with a very similar piece of Japanese art that has a backstamp in English with the name and address of the shop it came from, in a town near Tokyo. I don't know how old the piece is but it certainly appears old enough to be vintage; the shop stamp on the other piece states that they provided "special services to foreigners since 1926". The piece is approx. 10 3/4" x 9 1/2". It is in good condition overall. Parts of the very thin silver border are worn, a small bit of the upper-left corner is creased and there is a short tear nearby along the top edge, as shown. There is a small loop of string taped to the back for hanging. I have a similar piece for sale, also. Please take a look at it and at some of the other items in my eBay store!
