Description: This vintage oval silver-plated footed serving platter from Woodward & Lothrop is a beautiful addition to any collection. It features a tree design and is a meat carving/serving platter with a juice well. Although technically a meat platter, it would make a lovely platter for serving any of your favorite dishes or would be great as a display piece. The platter is marked Woodward & Lothrop, E.P.C., 100 on the back. Woodward & Lothrop opened its doors in 1886 and is considered to be the first department store in Washington, D.C. It remained one of the most popular stores in D.C. for decades. EPC is most likely electroplated on copper. The platter measures approximately 16 inches by 11.5 inches. The four legs have protectors on them to prevent scratching of your furniture. The platter is in nice condition but does have some tarnish, toning, and possibly pitting. I try my best to describe each item as accurately as possible, and to the best of my ability and knowledge. However, because condition is a matter of opinion, please look at the photographs carefully to make your own determination. I do not offer returns but please contact me if the item you received has a flaw or defect not noted in my description or visible in the photographs provided. Thank you for viewing this listing and happy shopping! Although I usually take photos in different lighting in an attempt to capture actual hues, items in photos may vary slightly from their true colors due to lighting or camera glare or my less than stellar photography skills. I reuse shipping materials whenever possible. Anything used to display or measure the listed item is not included.
