Description: Very scarce battery operated tin Nomura Space patrol Car resembling a Studebaker and red robot driver resembling Robby the robot from Forbidden Planet. As visible in pictures, car has play/age wear, but is still in nice condition. There is some areas of surface rust on chrome parts, light wear to paint, one of the small rubber wheels on rotating bump and go mechanism is pretty deteriorated, on/off switch is broke off flush with body, and toy is missing arms & barrel on gun, all visible in close up pictures. Very clean battery compartment as pictured. Toy has been tested by touching brass contact of on/off switch to body with a small screwdriver. Gun moves back and forth with a clicking sound, and bump and go mechanism rotates. A very hard to find tin space toy that could be really nice with some repairs. I am sure Tin Toy Works in Allentown, PA would have or could locate missing parts, and repair this great toy back to completion.
