Description: Now here is a radio you don't see every day. This 1957 Magnavox model R5 is a great example of 1950's Mid Century Modern style. Originally off-white, I have painted this one a gorgeous Maui blue with gold accent which blends perfectly wth the charcoal black back. This classy little radio brings to mind, Doo-Wop music, Drive-in movies and '57 Chevy's. No cracks and no chips in this cabinet; nosiree! The dial is beautiful black with gold and the plastic cover is in great shape with only a couple of very minor scratches (see picture). The electrolytics and any bad capacitors have been replaced as well as any out of tolerance resitors. The circuit board shows no sign of lifted circuits or cracks and the tubes all test strong and reliable. Reception is good bringing in stations all acrost the dial (reception may vary in your area). All this along with the color matched new power cord would bring a bang to anyones collection or just as a stand alone on your counter, mantle or bedside table and would put a glow into anyones eye who notices it (and it will get noticed).
