It is made of clear glass, referred to as "Crystal Lustre #207L" in the L.E. Smith catalog. It stands 7.5" high and 5" wide. It is about 6.5" deep. The base and opening of the bowl rim measure about 4.5" long and 4" wide. This quality made piece weighs 3 lbs 2 oz, without packing materials. This dish is in excellent condition and without chips, cracks, stains or other damage. It is a very lovely serving piece, perfect for Thanksgiving cranberry sauce, gravy, candies, nuts, or other delectable delights. When not in use, it is an attractive piece for display in your vintage glass collection. L. E. Smith Company started production on turkey candy dishes in the 1940's. During the 1970's, the company started putting its logo on the bottom. This one does not have the logo. It measures 7 5/8" tall, is 6 3/4" long, and is 5 1/4" wide. There are no chips or cracks. This is a heavy piece of glassware and well made. The turkey's "feathers" and features are detailed and glisten in the light. Condition is Like New-no chips or cracks. Shipped with USPS In 1943, L.E. Offered in a variety of colors, customers had the option to purchase a turkey “…in amber, ruby, clear and a new bicolor version called ‘amberina,’ with a ruby body and amber tail feathers…” When the turkey entered production, it quickly became one of the company’s most popular items, and Americans soon found themselves in possession of the famous fowl. For more than 30 years, glass turkeys dominated the holiday market, until the company noticed a decrease in sales that prompted manufacturers to limit its production.
