Description: Vintage Kohler Permissible Flame Safety Lamp No. 203 Coal Miner's Lamp c1940-60s Click image to enlarge Description Offered for your consideration is Kohler Permissible Flame Safety Lamp, manufactured by the Kohler Manufacturing Company of Marlboro, Massachusetts. This is an all original Model No. 203 and is from, I would guess the 1940-60s. This lamp is untested. The lamp does have indicator lines on the glass, as these lamps were primarily used in the coal mines to detect methane gas. The lamp is made of aluminum, with a glass globe. In good to very good 'as found' condition, the lamp shows use and handling, and I do not detect any breaks or repairs. The lamp does has it's own hook for hanging. The lamp (only) measures about 9" tall, and the hook adds an additional 4 1/4". The lamp has a diameter base measurement of 3 7/8". The lamp weighs 2 pound 8 ounces, and will ship at 3 pounds 6 ounces, as it will be double boxed for protection. Auctions can be combined to save on shipping. Thank you for viewing my listing.
