Description: Vintage Karen Schlau Handmade Plaster "Floyd, Patron of Fat Cats" Wall Plaque. I found this wall plaque in a box that was owned by my parents. The box contained the plaque, the framed information, and then also, a folded piece of paper (I believe came with the plaque) that included the following information: "This plaque bears the image of Floyd, a twenty-two pound orange tabby who lives at 84 Ashley Ave. in Charleston. Floyd was born in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, where a human being threw him into Bayou Teche to try to kill him when he was a kitten. Floyd, however, swam to the bank of the bayou and began to holler. He was rescued and ate well in Louisiana (his first meal after being rescued was crawfish) and Mississippi before moving to Charleston. His history is an example of good beating evil. This small image of Floyd was handmade by Karen Schlau and can go outside." The plaque is in good condition with no chips or cracks. This is a vintage piece with areas of wear and stain on the back of the piece (see photo). The framed photograph also shows sign of wear (see photos). The paper with the information about the plaque was folded in half and found inside of the framed piece. It comes from a smoke-free household. As with all my listings, I try to note and describe any imperfections or condition issues. By purchasing this item, you agree that you have read the description, viewed the photographs, and are aware of the condition of the item. Thank you for your interest. Please feel free to message me with any questions or to request additional photographs.
