Description: Please see the listing photos for contents and condition. This previously owned calligraphy set shows some minor wear. The wood box has numerous fine, light scratches. The tools do not appear to have ever been used. The plastic cover for the tool compartment has a crack in one corner. The lidded black slate box and three other pieces show no noticeable wear. One of the carved slate pieces does not fit in any of the compartments so may not be original to the set. The box measures 14 1/4" x 11 1/2" x 3 3/8". The inlay design on the box appears to be mother-of-pearl, but I am not sure. The set weighs just under ten pounds. The markings are Asian characters so I do not know the maker or origin, but the set looks like other Japanese sets for sale. Any information about this set would be appreciated.
