Description: Vintage Inuit Soapstone Figurine Abbott Canada Eskimo Fisherman Sitting Fish 6" Condition:This is a soapstone sculpture by Ben Abbott made in Canada. It is a native Inuit Eskimo fisherman in a seated position, holding a fish. He measures 6" tall x 4" wide x 4" deep. He weighs 2 lb. 5 oz. I am not sure if this is a carved or cast figurine. He has a great patina and primitive style. He has variation in his coloring, which obscures some flaws. He is in good condition, but he does have a chunk out of his right foot and his face and nose are chipped. Someone has painted over these flaws with gray paint which obscures the flaws. Personally, it just seems to fit with the rustic, primitive style of this beautiful sculpture. When wet, the difference in coloring is enhanced but when dry, it is not as obvious except upon closer inspection. Please see photos for specifics on the condition of this wonderful, native sculpture. Measurements:6" tall x 4" wide x 4" deepWeighs 2 lb. 5 oz
