Description: Vintage Imperial Candlewick Amethyst California Covered Butter Dish by Moser This butter dish is fashioned after Imperial Candlewick and made by the Moser Glass Company out of Ohio. Eastern U.S. dairies traditionally cut their butter sticks intolong form, whereas Western dairies, and in particular, California dairies cuttheir butter into shorter, fatter sticks. Consequently, California butter dishes are shorter and slightly fatterthan our traditional Eastern butter dishes. This dish measures 6 1/2 inches by 4 inches. On the butter edge of the lowerpiece, there is a tiny little mold bubble, which might be a chip, but it’sdifficult to discern its origin.
