Description: Vintage Helena Rubinstein Slumber Song Night Perfume w Angel on Bottle Click images to enlarge Description Up for auction is a vintage Helena Rubinstein Slumber Song, Night Perfume. This bottle is in the original plastic box packaging and has gold cording tied around the plastic box. I have not attempted to take this apart or open the bottle. This fragrance was introduced in 1938-1939. This glass bottle is housed in a thin plastic box with gold cording. I do not want to damage the plastic, so I am not opening the box. There is some loss of perfume in the bottle, most likely from age, but I do not know if the bottle has been opened. My money is on it not being opened, but I do not know that for sure. The front of the bottle has a pink skinned cherub with gold wings. Above the angel it reads: Slumber Song Night Perfume The font at the center bottom of the bottle reads: helena rubinstein Helena Rubinstein Inc. New York Distribution Contents 1 ¼ oz This would be a splash on perfume. This fragrance is not guaranteed due to the age, and the fact I have not opened it to smell it. But since it is older, there is a good chance it would still smell great, but not have the longevity of a new bottle off the shelf. Appears to be a round ball shaped screw cap. The backside has information on product use. See photo 4 for details. What I also found interesting was that the underside of the bottle is impressed: Valaze in script. I have noticed this name on some older Rubinstein compacts I have. In looking at the web, I found that Valaze means: " a gift from heaven" in Hungarian. (I believe that Helena Rubinstein was born in Poland, which at the time was part of Austria-Hungary.) This may also provide a reason for why she used cherubs / angels on her products as shown on this bottle. Height of the bottle is about: 3 1/2 inches Shipping is $8 to the winning bidder.
