It was carved out of the center of the tree. The metal handle is mounted on each side with a metal eye hook. Please see our other eBay listings for other fun items. The pail is in normal used condition. The wood is little discolored in spots due to years of use. The lid rocks a little when put on the bottom (might be warped a little). The metal handle has several dark spots. There is checking on the bottom. We are a non-smoking home/shop and there are no odors on this piece. Please check out our other items!
