Description: This is a medium size Butcher's CLEAVER dating to before WW2. It is unmarked as the makers mark has worn away. Cleaver measures 11" overall with the blade being about 6". Well used and resharpened and has a nice sharp edge. Dark patina and pitting on the blade. Hanging hole in the end. Original handle looks to be solid Walnut wood slabs, nicely shaped and secured to the full tang by 3 steel cutlers rivets. Comes in a handmade leather blade cover that allows back-pocket carry. Would also make a great little hatchet for splitting kindling at the hearth. Guaranteed to please the new owner or I'll buy it back.
