Description: Approx 19" tall, this Silvestri reproduction of an Anthony Costanza sculpture is not his normal Santa, or perhaps not Santa at all. In 2021 we purchased several Costanza carvings from the estate of a gift shop owner who apparently knew him personally - two of the Santas wereinscribed to the owner and signed by Costanza. Some were original 1 of a kind and a few were Silvestri reproductions like this. This one appears to be signed by him in 2 places: "Tony Costanza" is signed in small black script along the edge of beard on his left side. Near the base of the tree he signed "ACOSTANZA" in larger white print. The face of a white bearded man peers out from the black bark and his right arm hangs subtley in pale grey-blue. On the other side a small patch of snowy green tree is covering his left arm. Perhaps a woodland Belsnickle Santa? Merlin or some other wizard? There are 3 small holes that are meant to hold twigs. One is in the white beard and the others on the sides. No twigs were found with it so we used a few natural twigs. If needed we could include some twigs. Review photos carefully and request more if needed. Questions always welcome!
