Vintage 30s Burgundy Velvet Evening Gown, 1930s Old Hollywood Glamour Dress

Description: Size: Small/Medium Garment MeasurementsWaist: 28"Bust: 36/37"Hips: 42"Shoulder to hem: 56" This elegant vintage 1930s evening gown is made from a lovely crushed burgundy velvet with stunning beaded detailing on the bodice. This gown also features a low, V-shaped waistline, draped dolman sleeves, and a gathered, floor length skirt which is accented with a center slit in the front. The bodice is gathered under the bust line for for some classic 1930s detailing, and the asymmetric beaded accent travels in an S-shape from the lower waist to the right sleeve. The sleeves are lightly padded for extra structure, and the dresses closes with a row of hooks at the side. Condition: This gown is in excellent condition for its age and is very wearable. The velvet has a crushed look throughout, and it's hard to tell if it originally looked that way or if it's due to it's age. Regardless, it goes well with the gown. There is a vertical seam in the right bust which has been made to repair a tear in the velvet, but this blends into the gathered tailoring of the bodice and does not look out of place (see closeup pictures of bodice). Lastly, there is a small hole near the top of the slit in the front, but this also blends into the folds of the skirt. Some of the lining edges on the inside of the dress are raw and show a little fraying, but this is not visible from the outside of the garment.
