Given that it's likely the movement hasn't been serviced in several decades, if ever, a complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended.*********** This vintage 1970's Sheffield Allsport, which came from the estate of its original owner, has a lovely glossy black "T SWISS MADE M1" signed dial and the lume on the dial and hands emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light. The black bezel, which shows wear and rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, presents nicely. The chrome-plated case shows honest wear and oxidation. The stampings on the outside of the case back have worn down over time. The crystal shows scratching. While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale the case back on this watch is torqued too tight for me to remove. The manual wind movement runs strong, albeit fast, and the date wheel rolls over at 12 am. This movement does not have a semi-quickset date function. After recently winding the non-screwdown crown 29 full revolutions the movement gained about 4 minutes by the end of its approximate 41 power reserve period. The crown winds smoothly and the time can be set without issue. Given that it's likely the movement hasn't been serviced in several decades, if ever, a complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40.5 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 8 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 9.5 mm. The lug to lug distance measures approximately 44 mm. A complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.
