Vintage 1970's Atlas SO-1B microphone stand on / off adapter Electro Voice # 5

Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. This is a 1960's era Atlas SO-1B adapter for any microphone or microphone stand. This desirable adapter allows you to quickly remove your older screw on microphone from any stand you are using lifting up on the two piece adapter. This is a used item with heavier wear. The item you will be receiving is what you see in pic s though the mic and mic stand shown are not included. This adapter is made of quality brass and has a polished chrome finish and can be seen in pic # 2 in an older Atlas catalog I have. If you need something that is even more secure I would suggest the SO-2B model instead. The SO-1B was made for many years by Atlas but seems to be a harder to find accessory these days as they haven't been sold for quite some time now. I do know that there are cheaper Chinese replica adapters being sold today. This is a classic Atlas model however. The SO-1B simply screws onto your stand like an old microphone would be. Once in place you can attach your mic to the top of the adapter. You now have the ability to remove your mic from the stand without having to unscrew the mic which can take lots of time and isn't easy once the cable is attached. This adapter solves those problems and is much easier on your mic as attaching and detaching your mic from a stand can risk stripping the soft threads on your mic. The top of the SO-1B is held onto the bottom via tension. Simply lift up on your mic and the adapter separates allowing you to walk around the room with your mic. Again, heavier wear the top and bottom pieces of this adapter in the form of deeper scratches. The adpater works perfectly though. An awesome accessory for any older or newer microphone stand.
