It is issued by Opelika Coke Bottling Plant in Alabama and written out to:Standard Oil Company, dated 10/13/1947. It is in excellent condition, especially for the age of 76 years old. It measures 8.5" x 3". What makes this check a unique piece of Coca Cola memorabilia are the titans of business & industry involved in this one transaction. Obviously there’s Coke…and Standard Oil post-breakup. But on the backside you’ll notice the check was deposited to The First National Bank in Birmingham, Al. That bank went on to become the 30th largest bank in the country and a Fortune 500 company known today as Regions Financial.
