Vintage 1940's Electro Voice 630 dynamic microphone w Astatic E6G stand display

Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a very nice older general purpose microphone made by Electro Voice in the late 1940's. This is the early 2nd generation 630 that has the polished chrome housing and looks nice but it no longer works and should be used for display, prop or repair purposes only. It comes with the period Astatic stand shown however. Pic # 2 shows this very model in a 1940's Electro Voice catalog along with several others mic models of that era. Pic # 3 is of Marilyn Monroe using this very model of E.V mic while performing live at a U.S.O show during the Korean War. This early 2nd generation 630 has the elongated lower pistol grip giving it a bit more character. The mic housing / head is reminiscent of the jet engines being used by several American and Soviet fighter planes of the day. The 70 + year old microphone has typical lite wear as you can see in pictures with fine pitting and a few very lite scratches and scuff marks but free of any dents, dings or fractures. The chrome has a nice luster still. The threads for the cable and stand are perfect with zero stripping. The E.V label shows paint loss but still completely legible. Overall this piece is an easy 7 on a scale of 1 - 10. The joint mechanism works fine with plenty of tension. The on / off switch works great as well. Just needs a replacement element. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS PART OF THIS SALE... The mic comes with 1950's era Astatic E6G microphone desk stand. This is an aluminum painted base with painted wood stem / riser. The handle was detachable by giving it a half twist and lifting upwards. This model was widely produced by Astatic during the 1940's through 1950's. It was ideal for handling microphone by keeping the wood handle on the mic as very few people actually held the microphone themselves back then. This particular stand has typical lite wear as you can see. Some scuffs, tiny paint chips and scratches located on the base but no dents or fractures. The wood riser looks very nice. Please let the detailed pictures be your guide. All 3 original rubber pads are still present and look great. It will keep the stand from scratching any surface it sits on. Mic stand with mic on top is appx 12 inches tall X 5 inches wide. The stand really compliments the mic as well. This will make a great display piece anywhere it sits in the home, studio or office.
