This cookbook was put together in the days when telephone numbers were only four digits long. There is not a date that I could see on the book, but photographs of the ladies who contributed recipes to the book look like they might be from the 1950s. Many merchants from Faison, North Carolina and nearby towns have placed advertisements in the book. Not every recipe has a photograph of the contributor, but every recipe does have the name of the contributor. Though the title of this cookbook indicates that it is only about meat, there are many recipes for desserts and breads, as well. This is a real jewel! NOTE: The cookbook has neither a table of contents nor an index.
