Description: Verlinden Productions 120mm (1/16 scale) German Officer holding Luger in Russian Front WWII 400 Brand new! This is a resin figure kit from Verlinden Productions. Kit consists of unassembled and unpainted resin parts, parts are shown in sixth picture. Built and painted one's picture is for reference only and put for you to enjoy fine detailing of Mr.Francois Verlinden. These are NOS Verlinden kits, although kits are new, their packages may not always be in perfect condition. Kit contains professionally casted parts from the original such as the hand holding pistol, as most of the original Verlinden gun barrels were broken or non-existant upon inspection, they had arrived like that from Verlinden, all parts are now perfectly complete. The German officer, depicted here, is wearing a two-piece heavily padded uniform, typical for the Ukraine in the winter of 1942-1943. It goes without saying that these uniforms were also used during the Battle of the Bulge in the severe winter of 1944, when the Germans sustained heavy casualties while being fought by General Patton's army near Bastogne. This uniform was reversible with the white snow camouflage on one side and a green and brown camouflage pattern on the other side. Remember this when painting the figure because the inner lining of the cap and the collar can be seen. For those wondering why the Germans could always be seen wearing red arm bands, the answer is simple. Because the Russians, (more familiar with the severe winter climate), had the same kind of uniforms, it was difficult to tell friend from foe. So the Germans added this distinctive piece of clothing and wore it in a place where it could easily be spotted from a distance. You may not have noticed it at first instance but the figure in second and later pictures is composed using different parts of as much as four figures. The legs, arms and head were taken from this figure, the German Officer/ Russia figure No.VP0400. His torso came from the No.VP0443 Panzerjager / Ostfront figure to attach all the equipment. The right hand is from the Kapitanleutnant / U-Boot 1942 VP0440, while the left hand can be found inside kit VP0436, the German Luftwaffe Fighter Pilot WWII. The accessories, being a Schmeisser machine gun, a gas mask container, a canteen, a typical German water bottle, ammo pouches and a flashlight are all items from kit VP0448 German Infantry Equipment. Important! This item is unassembled and unpainted. All extra model kit(s) and figure(s) in the pictures are for illustrative purposes only, and they are not included.
