Description: Two early covers from U.S. bases in Antacrtica. Both covers are franked with a Scott Catalog U.S. #935, the WWII U.S. Navy achievement issue. The Pole Station cover (meaning the South Pole) was cancelled barely a month after this base became full time 24/7. It also includes a note as the original correspondence shown in the scan. The second cover is from the Little America base. This would have been the 5th Little America base. It was established on January 3, 1956 and this cover was cancelled just less than 4 months later. Each cover has minor bumping or wrinkling as shown.
