Description: Artist: Tim Vigil (1924-1972)Frame Size: 19" x 18 1/4"Visible Artwork Size: 8 5/8" x 7 3/4"Medium: gouache and/or watercolor on artist board This is one of two paintings I have for sale by Tim Vigil, also known as Ku Se Peen. Both are dated 1972, but the framing looks more like circa early 2000's. I found his year of birth and death on a page about one of his paintings on the National Museum of the American Indian website. He was the son of Thomas Vigil, and the brother of Paul Vigil, both painters as well. This one shows a buffalo dancer and another person dancing with them. The painting has several spots below the dancers where the paint flaked off, and more around the signature. The frame is mostly in good shape, but it has a scratch on the left side, and there is a "crack" on the right side. The whole frame didn't crack, but it looks like the thin veneer cracked.
