This is a standard book written by 18th century German theologian Johann Starck, who was very popular both in Germany and America. These books were always made with metal clasps to shut them, and this copy has lost its top clasp, and the bottom clasp is damaged to an extent that trying to use it would probably finish breaking it. My last picture shows the damage up close. This copy has some handwritten genealogical records of some German immigrants to Pennsylvania, specifically the Lewellon family of Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.
