Description: Offering a vintage 1930's era GRAMPIAN Model MCS Dynamic Microphone, working strong with stand and cable. Grampian was also well known for making loudspeakers, amplifiers, gramophones and recording equipment. The shape is somewhat similar to the box condensers of that period. The "MCS" may be Grampian's first microphone, produced in Feltham, Middlesex, U.K. It was also their the most successful one, produced well into the fifties, perhaps even into the sixties. The huge iron magnet inside makes this mic both awesome in weight and size, roughly 4x4x3, with a fully chromed casing, copper wire grill. The chromed casing is in generally good shape, with only sporadic areas of mild wear, the copper wire grill is in good condition as well with a very nice sharp brass maker's badge on the back. Testing produces a good quality audio profile with strong output. (Check out the audio sample on the listing video.) The mic head is hardwired to a new 4 foot cable with male XLR plug, and is threaded to a gorgeously chromed vintage (and adjustable-height) desk stand, overall height from 12-15" with a heavy chrome over iron base. NOTE: If you don't need the stand, we can credit you back for that. ** Always safe secure packaging and fast fair shipping. ***** WE BUY OLD MICS - INVENTORY REGULARLY UPDATED **** Click on my eBay username for details.
