Description: STUNNING Vintage Ladies Natural Australian Black Opal Ring 9ct Gold ARA Size 7-1/8 (Loose fitting size 7) Vintage Estate Jewelry! The stamped 9ct yellow gold ring has a bright finish. One oval-shaped tablet of natural Australian Black Opal adorns the top of the ring, and averages 11.7 x 8.5 x 2.14mm in size, with an estimated weight of 1.05 carats. This black opal has a darker body color with intense teal blue, yellowish green, greenish purple and pinkish red plays of color that dance in the light. This stone is lightly included, and lies within an open-back bezel setting. The ends of the bezel have a small bead-shape design. The inner shank is stamped with "9ct" and "ARA". This ring measures 14.8mm in width at the apex and tapers to 2.1mm at the rounded base. The overall weight of this ring with the stone is 2.5 gms. This ring was purchased in Australia and given to my Grandmother as a gift by her Brother and his wife in the early 1970's. I do not know when it was actually made.
