This rare and collectible bear from Steiff is the "Baerle 43 Pab 1904 Replica" teddy bear which was a limited edition limited to the end of 2004. The bear is based on the original Baerle 43 Pab bear from 1904 and is made of dark blond mohair with wooden shoe-button eyes, shaved muzzle, and hand-stitched mouth, nose and claws. The teddy retains the Steiff tag which is stitched under the arm as at the time of the original, Steiff products didn’t have ear tags at the time rather a metal elephant in the ear designating Steiff.
