Though called a jasper it is more likely a type of Rhyolite, but it is a hard material and unlike most rhyolite-it takes a good polish. It is found in Mexico. Rhyolite is an extrusive igneous rock formed as a deposit of volcanic ash. The ash becomes rock after being exposed to extreme heat and pressure.
