Description: In 2005 Taschen Publishing came out with THE STANLEY KUBRICK ARCHIVES, a beautiful (and huge!) book with detailed analyses of every one of Kubrick’s films – from 1956’s “The Killing” to “Eyes Wide Shut,” released in 1999. This oversized book (16 ½” x 12”, with 544 pages) features two major sections: “The Films” and “The Creative Process.” It is filled with full-color shots from each of his films along with copious examinations and explanations of his art. The book’s authorship is credited to Stanley Kubrick and his wife, Christiane Kubrick. Kubrick died in 1999, shortly before “Eyes Wide Shut” was released. There are two fascinating additional elements included with this book – one is an actual strip of frames from the 70 mm print of “2001: A Space Odyssey”, owned by Kubrick. The other is an audio cd containing an in-depth interview with Kubrick conducted by Jeremy Bernstein. This book is in pristine condition – it does not appear to have been read. The film strip does not appear to have ever been removed from the plastic envelope set into the third page of the book. Finally, as I’ve said a few times, this is a huge book. It weighs 13.6 lb. The collection is voluminous, and my friend was an editor for the DC books and the Star Wars books while a Senior Editor at Bantam Books. Most of these titles are in Fine condition.
