Description: Springfield, MASSACHUSETTS - Original Union Railway Station. This Original Union Station was a Richardson Romanesque dual-station designed by the architectural firm of Shepley Rutan and Coolidge, the successor firm to that of noted American architect, H. H. Richardson (architect of Trinity Church in Copley Square, Boston). It was built in 1888, when a predecessor station was dismantled. In 1926 it has since replaced by Springfield's grand Union Station constructed by the Boston & Albany Railroad. This Undivided Back Era (1901-07) postcard shows the Original Union Station. The card is in good condition, but there is edge wear and some franking on the image. No. 19.
