Soviet Russian WWII Medal Order of the Red Star T-34 DRIVER 1943

Description: Soviet Russian USSR WWII medal Order of the Red Star with serial number in the upper 800-thousand range awarded in October 1943 to Junior Lieutenant Ivan Kravchenko (Ukrainian), who, at the time of awarding, was a sergeant in the 37th Guards Tank Brigade and driver of a T-34 tank!Kravchenko was awarded this Red Star for bravery in combat. Per the award citation: he took part in 15 attacks and was first to rush his tank into a village that was subsequently liberated. His tank crew destroyed 2 anti-tank guns, 3 vehicles, 5 machine gun nests, and up to 20 enemy soldiers and officers. Kravchenko also personally took one prisoner.The citation further praised his skill as a driver-mechanic (no accidents or breakdowns) and his devotion "to the Party of Lenin and Stalin and Soviet Government". Kravchenko appears to have been promoted to officer rank subsequent to this action. Condition is excellent, as seen in the images! The serial number of the award is authentic and matches the serial number shown in the archival documents, obviously!
