However, this 1993 version is expanded and improved, and is completely in English. In very good to excellent condition. The internal pages are pristine. The cover shows slight light shelf wear to cover. This is a reliable and authoritative guide which shows in detail the evolution of Soviet insignia and uniforms, for all ranks from Enlisted Men to Generals. The focus is on headgear, tunics and rank insignia. Among the strong points of this book are the tables which identify various mixed piping colors (a complicated field to the uninitiated) and the precise dating of changes and modifications to various uniforms. Very crisp graphics, too. The majority of this information is simply not available in other guides, making this an extremely useful reference for collectors and historians.
