There are kite tail decorations that go half way on each side and plain band for the other half of the ring. Wide rings typically fit more snugly when you try on a size you usually wear. You will probably need a size larger than usual. It is a really nice heavy weight. This ring is manufactured by a local specialty manufacturer so each ring is slightly different. The band is not completely even and smooth. It may have some dips or overlaps in the silver that don't detract from the look of the top of the ring that shows. It comes in sizes 6 thru 9.
