This is the novel I've been planning for seven years and working on for three (the last eight months steadily, doing nothing else) [...] No, I shan't expect more than a full page story on it in the Post-Dispatch; hell no; that would be unreasonable, and unreasonableness is to be deplored....... Seriously, there are various problems taken up in it which might make a story of some interest, I should think.
