Description: This is a shiny, fully-reconditioned New Old Stock example (with used mounting bracket) of a compact, 2" diameter Huret-made Schwinn Approved speedometer head, part number 08 435, from about 1970. It's in full working order, freshly lubricated, polished, waxed and reassembled, turning freely and ready to go.This 08 435 is the most compact design that Huret made for Schwinn, and is ideal for smaller bikes such as 20" Sting-Rays and Krates, but also makes for a nice low-profile installation on larger road bikes.The speedometer head is 2" (50mm) in diameter and 1½" deep. It has a polished chrome rim, glass face, and has been freshly refinished in the original silver gray hammertone enamel on its rear case, with red numbers on a white dial, and a black pointer. All chrome has been polished to restore the shine, and then waxed to keep it that way. It had no other parts when found, so I have installed a clean used mounting bracket.This auction is for the speedometer head only, what you see here.
