In the foreground two young figures wait in anticipation on the shore to help those on board. The painting is signed to the lower right-hand corner. To the reverse of the canvas board is a second painting, depicting a riverscape with castle ruin at dusk. Unsigned and partly covered by brown framing tape. The painting is well presented in an ornate gilt-effect frame. On canvas board. Condition The condition is typical for a picture of this age including some discolouration caused by a layer of surface dirt and nicotine. There are several small cracks and losses to the gilt frame.
