Description: This is a nice Revolutionary War French Model 1771 socket bayonet that I have owned for 18 years. Very good general condition. Absolutely authentic. 16 1/2 inch overall length. 13 inch blade. 2 1/2 inch socket. 23mm inside socket diameter. 5 inch fuller on blade. Metal has been cleaned at some point prior to my ownership. Retains oxidation and staining. Makers stamp on ricasso. Original locking ring and screw. Ring moves freely but screw does not move. I'm sure some oil or WD40 would free it up. A desirable earl French bayonet. I have seen these sell on dealers sites for $450.00 and up recently. I will certainly entertain offers. See lead soldier photo. *** U.S. SHIPPING ONLY *** PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS PRIOR TO BIDDING AS ALL SALES ARE FINAL. THANK YOU.
