Description: Offering an attractive and useful restored vintage Markel desk or table lamp – useful insofar as the shade swivels easily. Probably best to do your adjusting before the lampshade gets hot! And hot it gets! Plenty of room inside the shade for whatever type or size bulb you desire. This lamp has a nice heavy iron weight in the bottom, under the copper-plated brass (or solid copper?) cap. As is often the case, there are vertical hairline cracks (about 7) in the ribbed part of the cap – it’s called metal fatigue which of course is exacerbated in the plating process. So it goes… There’s one tiny dent in the shade, not worth a picture. The quality of the chrome plating on the arm is tops. All the elements save the iron weight are brass or copper underneath the plating. Attention to detail: even the socket is freshly chromed! The lacquer on the cap has some disturbances as is the way with lacquered surfaces. Measurements: about 11 5/8 high, the shade with a 7 ¼ diameter. The base is 4 ¾ across.
