Relic Cross with Stones from Tomb of Jesus from Holy Sepulchre Holy Fire

Description: This beautiful reliquary cross is made of an acrylic and has a small stone fragment that was gathered from the renovation site of Jesus tomb inside the Church of the Holy Sepulcher more info below. The stone is set on the bottom of the cross. This will come with the gift pouch shown. The little medallion on the gift pouch has on one side the image of the Risen Jesus and on the back set into remnant of Holy Fire candle wax that was lit at the tomb of Jesus there is a small tomb of Jesus stone in the center. The cross measures 4". History of the Miracle of the Lighting of the Candles every Easter. The Holy Fire is a miracle that occurs on the day preceding Orthodox Easter in which a blue light emanates within Jesus tomb. The Holy Flame comes down from Heaven and puts fire on lamps and candles in the Church. This miracle occurs every year dating as far back as the fourth century. The first occurrence of the Holy Fire in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher was in the fourth century. Although as early as the first century A.D Saint John of Damascus and Saint Gregory Nyssen tell of the Apostle Peter seeing the Holy Light a year after the resurrection of Jesus Christ in 34 A.D. The Russian abbot Daniel, in his itinerary, written in the years 1106-07, gives a very detailed account of the "Miracle of the Holy Light" and the ceremonies that surrounded it. He recalls how the Patriarch goes into the Sepulchre -chapel (the Anastasis )with two closed candles. The Patriarch kneels in front of the stone on which Christ was laid after his death and says certain prayers, upon which the miracle occurs. I am so excited to be able offer this precious keepsake that contains a fragment of marble stone that was recovered and gathered during the restoration of the Tomb of Jesus within the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Below is the write up by my good friend Evie of HolyLand Revival about the Marble and stone fragments that she had the opportunity to gather herself straight from the renovation site and has available in her stores. She was invited to the excavation site by a friend of hers who is a Biblical archeologist. I have taken these stones she provided me (I posted a photo of the ones I purchased from her) and I break them up into smaller sizes for the creation of my reliquary keepsakes that I design. This is a rare opportunity to own a fragment from the area surrounding the vary Tomb of Jesus.History info of the stones provided to me by my friend at Holyland Revival:"In a historic event that uncovered the burial slab bed of Jesus from within the Church of the Holy Sepulchre several marble rocks and stones were collected from the renovation site. The enduring memory and symbolism of this marble material has persisted for over 15 centuries. The burial bed of Jesus is surrounded by the ornate shrine of the Aedicule (Edicule). The burial bed has been resealed with its original marble cladding and may remain hidden and unseen again for countless years to come.""These precious marble rocks from the renovation site that were collected, have been placed at the Stone of Anointing, located within the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. This Stone of the Anointing is traditionally believed to be where Joseph prepared Jesus' body for burial." quote from Evie of Holyland Revival Jerusalem.
