RARE WYETH HOLSTER: 1860-1910 COLT SINGLE ACTION TOOLED CALIFORNIA "SLIM JIM"

Description: This is a very rare 1860's holster made for Colt Single Action Army revolver. The design is a classic Old West style known as the California "Slim Jim". It is made of high-quality tooled leather in a rich brown color and is designed to be worn on a belt. The holster measures 12 inches in length and 4.5 inches in width and is perfect for those who want a cowboy or western-style holster. This holster is made in the United States and is an excellent addition to any collection. Marked "10". Excellent condition for it's age! "This holster by Wyeth of St. Joseph MO, which was once the largest saddlery in the world; a very commonplace brand (almost always unmarked). Chainstitched and likely the end of 19th century/beginning of 20th. Wyeth opened its leathergoods operation in 1872, it burned to the ground in 1895, then reopened to become the largest by 1900 or so then closed its leathergoods in 1958."
