RARE Vtg. Antique Ferguson 2701 Writing/Childs Desk & Chair, Telephone Table

Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE RARE Vintage Antique Ferguson No. 2701 Writing Desk and and Matched Chair, Child's Desk or Telephone Table. Made by Ferguson Bros. Mfg. Co. Hoboken, New Jersey The Chair is stamped on the bottom "Ferguson Bros. Mfg. Hoboken, N.J. Trade Mark No. 2701" and has a sticker "Ferguson Treasured Furniture, Symbol of Quality Since 1875". The desk is stamped on the bottom "Ferguson Bros. Mfg. Hoboken, N.J. Trade Mark No. 2701". This is apparently a Rare piece, after extensive research I have not seen any of these tables sold let alone as a matched set. I am guessing this set was made in the 1920's or 1930's. The chair and table look to be 100% solid wood. I'm not for sure what wood, I'm guessing walnut with the original dark walnut finish. The bottom of the desk and chair are unfinished so please inspect photos and you decide. The desk is 28" high x 20" wide x 14" deep with one 4" open shelf. The chair seat is 15" wide x 13" deep. The seat height is 17" and the back is 27" tall. Joints are tight. and reasonably sturdy, although small and lightweight and does have some wiggle. There is about a 1" scuff on the beaded edge on the back of the desk top (see photo) The Ferguson Brothers Manufacturing Company made furniture in Hoboken, NJ from 1898 - 1953. They were family owned until being bought in 1953 by Sun-Glo Industries. At that time the company was moved west to Virginia. Local pickup is preferred. I will ship if requested. The desk and chair will be carefully packed together in a large box and protected as best as possible to prevent damage. Shipping will be about $60-80 by Fed Ex. This desk and chair are light and dainty and it's impossible to guarantee there won't be loose joints, etc from shipping.
