Description: This is a very rare advertising tin pipe protector that was used to protect the fragile clay pipes during the 1860s and earlier. It is in excellent condition and measures 6.75" long. It is hinged and closes securely. It is embossed on top "Compliments of Frank Jones Brewing Co." and reads on front "Frank Jones Portsmouth Ales." It comes with an 1860s-era white clay pipe that fits perfectly inside. The clay pipe has some embossed letters that are hard to read but I can see "NY" for New York. I have searched for quite a while online and have never found another one like this. Possibly a very scarce piece. Please ask if you have any questions.
