WOOD (20th Century) LISTED ABSTRACT ABSTRACTION 60s California EXPRESSIONISM. Rare early work by California modernist and abstract painter, Barbara Wood. Well listed Calif. CA artist. LISTED: Askart. Oil painting on board. Signed bottom left and also at the top edge (see photos). A couple spots of restoration are needed -some crack lines along edges and a larger crack line lower left with some additional paint loss in this area. Craquelure can be seen and a some paint flecks from the crack (see photos of damages). Overall center oil painting is in good shape -could use professional cleaning and light restoration at the edges and corner spots as mentioned, as found untouched vintage condition. A fine example of the artist work - beautiful bold color and expressive brush work in yellow / orange, brown, and beige variations, highly saturated color. Would appeal to collectors of mid Century modernism, mid Century decor, California modern, California modernism decor. SIZE: aprox. 18.25x24.25 framed, aprox. 18x24 unframed MEDIUM: oil painting on board CONDITION: A small tear can be seen at the lower left corner - some paint flecks and a crack line in this area. Overall minor restoration needed. Also a couple cracks can be seen along the edges near the metal framing. Has not been removed from or examined outside of frame, as found, untouched vintage condition.
