Description: This little candy container isn't marked Germany, but was made in the Erzgebirge region of Germany around 1910. It is so beautifully made - it looks like a real, cooked turkey. Even the cooked turkey neck looks real. It is made from compostion, which is different just about everywhere, as it is defined by whatever the maker has most readily available. It is made from glue, sawdust, plaster and whatever else was handy. Sometimes paper was added to the mixture, which makes it close to paper mache. This little piece is tiny, just 3 1/4" long. It has a plug in the bottom that I am pretty sure is original. The color even matches the turkey. The turkey would be a great addition to a doll's house or a model room, or just to collect because it's such a cool candy container.
