Description: Offering an antique H. Disston and Sons crosscut logging saw with a 1" inch "H. Disston & Sons PHILADA" medallion that dates this saw to 1877-1878. It is being sold in as-found condition. Features: Length: 41-1/2 overall, 36-1/2" x 6" inch bladeRivets: 4 The saw is in good shape, and the blade is straight and it does not have much rusting. Looks to be in very good condition, but there are plenty of pictures for you to decide yourself. It would be a great saw to restore. According to the Disstonian Institute website, Disston only used this style PHILADA medallion around 1877-1878 (see last few picture for more info), and that is why I am dating it to then. These are my findings, but please do your own research to confirm. The Disstonian Institue is a great resource for that. And if I have anything wrong, please let me know, as I always try to do my best to correctly represent what I am selling. I have several other large crosscut logging saws in my store, if interested, as well as numerous antique hand saws. Fast shipping...thanks for looking!
