Description: Hardy, Don Ed, Margo DeMello, Alan B. Govenar and Michael McCabe, Eds. (1995). Pierced Hearts and True Love: A Century of Drawings for Tattoos. New York: Honolulu, Drawing Center; Hardy Marks This is one of the most beautiful tattoo books that I have ever seen. Published as a catalog of an exhibition of tattoo flash at the venerable Drawing Center in NYC curated and edited by Don Ed Hardy, this is an incredible publication both for its scholarly and historical essays and especially for the great tattoo flash and historical photographs reproduced in it. A series of leading scholars and practitioners on/of tattooing contributed fully-illustrated essays. The quality of the reproduction is amazing and bring out the details of tattoo flash in all their beauty. See images for details and full TOC.
